The Psychic Potential Among Average People: Page 4
Results
When the experiment's results were analyzed with a single sample t-test, with a result of, t (13) = 2.232, 0.0438 < 0.05. So since the hypothesized mean of chance of five, the total mean was 6.143, it is statistically significant. When figured the second way, using the same test, but figuring on the highest number, either missed or correct came out to be, t (13) = 4.639, 0.0005 < 0.05. The mean for the second time was 6.714, which is even more statistically significant.
Discussion
The first set of results, which were calculated from the number that were chosen correct, came back as 6.143, which is higher than the hypothesized mean of chance, which was five (half of the number of trials). This means that the results were statistically significant and supports the premise that people can sense psychic energy projected from other people.

There are several problems with this experiment. First and foremost, the difference in energies between individuals can cause an inaccuracy in data. Each person is like a battery and their energy works at different frequencies and strengths and sometimes even a different polarity. This polarity problem is perhaps the most devastating problem to running a proper experiment. In my opinion, the reason why the young girl's experiment reported statistically insignificant results, because she did not take into account the effect of energy variance that can skew one's results (Researchers, 1998). This problem could equate to a test of manual dexterity using only the right hand because roughly the same percentage of the population has a reverse polarity as there are left handed people and obviously a left handed person would do poorly on a test measuring right handed dexterity. The effect of reverse polarity will cause the person to feel as if the energy is coming from the opposite hand from which the researcher is projecting.
